With your 2024 Super Bowl party approaching, you may be asking what food is Kansas City best known for? Let’s breakdown the best food ideas to celebrate the Chiefs at your Super Bowl party.
I’ve been to Kansas City three times over the last year for both business and pleasure. As an added bonus, I got to check out the iconic Arrowhead Stadium to see a Chiefs home game.

The KC food scene is one of the best, especially if you like barbecue. My point in all this is I learned a lot about the Kansas City food scene.
It is no surprise that Kansas City is best known for BBQ, and there are plenty of good local options for your party. This is true even if you do not live in Kansas City as you can now order online.
Here are the best Kansas City food options and how to order them.
Order Joe’s Kansas City BBQ for Your Super Bowl Party in 2024

My KC-native friend says you can tell a lot about a person by their favorite Kansas City barbecue joint. The good news is thanks to sites like Goldbelly you can order Kansas City food in time for the Super Bowl.
My first recommendations is a bit controversial to Kansas City locals, but it is some of the best BBQ you will find. Joe’s BBQ technically got its start in Oklahoma, but has emerged as one of the top barbecue places in Kansas City.
Joe’s BBQ signature dish is their Z-Man sandwich which can be ordered online at Goldbelly for about $100 plus shipping. It makes eight sandwiches, but you will need to plan out some sides. The good news is it comes with a bottle of the signature BBQ sauce.
The Z-Man comes on a Kaiser bun with pulled pork, chicken or brisket. This juicy KC sandwich is topped with smoked provolone cheese, two onion rings and BBQ sauce. There are other foods you can order online including ribs and the smoked turkey looks amazing but there’s a wait list.
Nothing says Kansas City barbecue quite like burnt ends. The legendary Arthur Bryants (you may remember from “Ted Lasso”) and Meat Mitch are two Kansas City places you can order burnt ends online.
Jack’s Stack is another local Kansas City BBQ place you can have shipped as well. Highly recommend all their sides.

Maybe you are looking to make your own Kansas City-inspired food for the Super Bowl. Gates Bar-B-Q is iconic in Kansas City, particularly their thinly chopped burnt ends. You can order Gates BBQ sauce and seasoning on their website.
From Gates website it estimates a 10-day arrival window, so there’s a chance it will not be delivered by the Super Bowl. The quickest way is to order the Gates barbecue sauce and seasoning on Amazon.

Best Kansas City Chiefs Beer & Drink Ideas for Super Bowl
If you are covered for food, you can also celebrate with some local Kansas City drink options. If beer is your thing, Boulevard is one of the best known Kansas City breweries.

The good news is Boulevard beer is distributed nationally, so there is a good chance you can find it locally. Tank 7 and Space Camper are two of the more iconic Kansas City beers from Boulevard.
Make Your Own Kansas City BBQ for Super Bowl Party

If you are too late to order, you can also do your own remix of a Kansas City food dish. Google burnt ends to see if you can find at your local BBQ restaurant. Brisket or pulled pork are both good backup options as well. You can also make your own Z-Man sandwich with the recipe outlined above.
Grab some sliders at the grocery store (I’m partial to the Hawaiian rolls) and pair it with your local BBQ offerings. Pick up some barbecue chips, BBQ baked beans and other goodies. Maybe it’s not perfectly Kansas City, but it’s the thought that counts.
Best Non-BBQ Food Ideas for Kansas City Chiefs Party

Okay, maybe you are not feeling the BBQ idea. What are the best non-BBQ food ideas for a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl party?
Kansas City is also known for their elaborate steakhouses. This could be a perfect day to fire up the grill and make some steaks.
BONUS: Best Kansas City Coffee Beans for Super Bowl

I know coffee does not exactly scream Super Bowl party. Yet, this is one of the easiest things to order and use in time for the Super Bowl.
I know I am a weirdo, but I like to order coffee beans from the Super Bowl cities to celebrate. This year, I opted to go with The Roasterie in Kansas City. You can order their City of Fountains coffee blend (renamed from the Kansas City Blend) on Amazon and get it within a couple of days.
Another great option is Messenger coffee, one of the best shops in Kansas City with craft beans. Celebrate throughout the week with some Kansas City coffee in the mornings leading up to the Big Game.

Another great option is to make a nice breakfast on Super Bowl Sunday for you and your partner. It just so happens you have some Kansas City coffee to make it better.
As for your Super Bowl party, why not make some Kansas City coffee to go with your dessert offerings? Not everyone at your party drinks alcohol and you will be surprised at how this idea goes over.
You may not find all of the food dishes you are looking for, but remember the Super Bowl is about gathering with the people you love. Enjoy whatever food you end up with and celebrate with the people that mater most.
